Are TREKS guides First Aid Certified? Do you have a risk assessment and management plan?
Yes. All TREKS guides are fully first aid certified and trained to handle emergencies in remote environments.
Our safety procedures follow international best practices. We develop our Risk Assessment and Management System in accordance with the British Standards Institution (BSI) Code BS 8848, which governs the safe management of overseas adventure travel. This framework also guides the planning and execution of our itineraries to ensure the highest safety standards.
Are there bathrooms/toilets on the hike?
Yes. Throughout the trek, we stay in mountain lodges (tea houses), all of which have bathroom facilities. In some locations, you may even be lucky enough to enjoy a hot shower!
Where does the drinking water come from?
Drinking water is sourced from nearby rivers and streams. Our team uses a professional filtration system to ensure the water is safe to drink.
If you prefer, bottled water is also available for purchase at the lodges along the trail.
What kind of food will we eat?
Meals typically include vegetables, fruits, dates, eggs, rice, bread, pasta, and traditional Nepali dishes.
We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and personal preferences. Just let us know in advance. We also recommend bringing a few of your favorite snacks for extra energy along the way.
Is there support along the trail? What will they carry?
Yes, this is a fully supported trek.
Our porters will carry sleeping bags, extra clothing, shared equipment, and personal duffel bags. Each participant is limited to 13 kg of personal gear.
You will only need to carry your daypack with essentials such as water, snacks, and extra layers.
Is tipping the local guides required?
Tipping is not mandatory, but it is customary and greatly appreciated.
The livelihoods of our local guides and porters largely depend on the income they earn during trekking seasons, and tips form an important part of that income.
Is the plane ticket included in the price?
No, international flights are not included.
You may book your own flights, or we can assist you with reservations. Please note that airfare prices vary depending on the season and booking time.
Will you issue me an invoice?
Yes, of course.
We provide official invoices upon request. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, bank transfer, or credit card.
When is the best time to visit?
The best months to hike to Everest Base Camp are October to mid-December, when temperatures are moderate, and rainfall is minimal.
However, this is a high-altitude expedition, and weather conditions can change quickly. As we ascend, temperatures drop significantly, often below -10°C at higher elevations, So proper preparation is essential.
Is it safe?
While hiking is generally safe, trekking at high altitude requires caution and preparation.
Our experienced team carefully monitors pace, weather conditions, and acclimatization to ensure everyone’s safety. We take all necessary precautions to help you have an unforgettable — and safe — experience.
Will my life be forever changed?
We truly believe it might be.
Many say people come to Nepal for the breathtaking landscapes, but return for the warmth of its people. For many trekkers, hiking in the Himalayas becomes a deeply transformative and life-changing journey.
